Members of the Economic Policy Forum participated in the T20 Kick-Off Meeting in Beijing at the start of the Chinese G20 presidency. The Institute of World Economics and Politics of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (IWEP, CASS) is in the lead of organizing the T20 process, jointly with the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS) and the Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies at Renmin University (RDCY). During the meeting in Beijing, more than 500 delegates from international think tanks participated in defining T20’s priorities and agenda of work streams for 2016, in joint discussions also with politicians, business leaders, and representatives from international organizations, and reflecting on the results of the Turkish Presidency and the outcomes of the G20 Antalya Summit. Under the overarching theme “G20 and Global Governance” several parallel workshops focused on topics such as challenges of global governance, new dynamics for global inclusive growth, innovation systems, and international investment and interconnected economy.
